옹관
옹관은 돌아가신 분들의 시신(屍身)이나 유골을 담아 매장하는 데 사용된 옹기로, 도관 또는 와관이라고도 한다.
옹관의 형태는 다양하지만, 일반적으로 크기가 비슷한 두 개의 항아리 입구를 맞대어 한쪽을 안쪽으로 삽입하는 방식으로 사용되었다.
이러한 묘제 문화의 옹관은 주로 나주 영산강 유역에서 발굴되고 있다.
Onggwan (Burial Jar)
Onggwan are earthenware jars used to hold the bodies or bones of the deceased, also called Dogwan or Wagwan.
While their shapes vary, they were generally made by joining the openings of two similarly sized jars, with one inserted into the other.
Such burial jars are primarily excavated from the Yeongsan River basin in Naju.
