연통과 연가
아궁이에 불을 땔 때 연기를 배출하기 위해 만든 굴뚝은 연통과 연가로 이루어져 있다.
집마다 다양한 재료와 형태의 굴뚝이 세워졌으며, 지붕 역할을 하는 연가에는 새, 거북, 두꺼비 등의 조각을 붙이거나 종교적 상징 문양을 새기기도 했다.
