확과 확독
믹서기가 없던 시절, 음식 재료를 갈 때 사용하던 옹기이다.
고추, 마늘, 깨와 같은 양념을 갈기 위해 둥근 손잡이를 가진 확과 푼주 모양 내부에 요철 문양이 새겨진 확독을 돌리며 재료를 빻는 역할을 한다.
Hwak and Hwak-dok (Grinding Jar and Pestle Jar)
Before the invention of blenders, these earthenware vessels were used to grind food ingredients.
The Hwak, a pestle-like tool with a round handle, and the Hwak-dok
a jar with a concave interior patterned with ridges, were rotated together to crush and grind spices such as chili, garlic, and sesame seeds.
