약뇨병
약뇨병은 약을 구하기 어려웠던 옛날, 민간요법의 한 방법으로 사용된 약뇨를 만드는 항아리이다.
병의 구멍을 솔잎으로 막고 목 부분을 줄로 매달아 뒷간에 넣으면,
약 한 달 정도 지나 솔잎을 통과한 소변이 약으로 쓸 수 있는 새로운 물질로 변한다.
솔잎의 염증 완화와 해열 효과, 그리고 옹기의 정화작용이 결합되어 약뇨가 만들어졌다.
주로 5세 이하 남자아이의 소변을 사용하였다.
Yaknyo-byeong (Medicinal Urine Jar)
The Yaknyo-byeong is a jar used in traditional folk medicine to produce medicinal urine during times when medicines were hard to obtain.
The jar’s opening is sealed with pine needles, and the neck is tied with a cord and hung in an outhouse.
After about a month, the urine that passes through the pine needles transforms into a substance that can be used as medicine.
The anti-inflammatory and fever-reducing properties of the pine needles, combined with the purifying effect of the earthenware, create the medicinal urine.
Typically, the urine of boys under the age of five was used.
